Izzy Caffarelli

Izzy Caffarelli is a supportive STEM tutor with an extensive background in math and physics. She focuses on advising students with helpful study strategies, and encourages active learning for students to achieve their academic goals. With a background in applied mathematics and astrophysics and an education at Washington University in St. Louis (WashU), Izzy specializes in high school and college-level math courses, up to and including Differential Equations.

At WashU, she worked as a drop-in mentor for Intro Physics I at WashU’s learning center, and is currently conducting research on training neural networks to detect oscillations in black hole x-ray light curves. Izzy is also an alumna of the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. Over the summer, she will be conducting her tutoring sessions from Seattle, where she is finishing a course in computer science.
