New York University
Bethesda, MD
From his youth, Eric Eisler developed a love for science and math, a dual fascination that grew over the years to include economics and finance, with a particular interest in efficiencies of capital markets. He subsequently earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech, and a Master of Business Administration from New York University. The one constant throughout his life has been tutoring and teaching. In 2014, he transitioned to tutoring full-time, working with students of all grade levels.
A dad of two wonderful and challenging student-athletes, Eric is a life-long lover of learning and teaching. Whether it’s understanding a rigorous geometric proof or studying the intricacies of a cover two defense, he is endlessly curious about the world. He tries to convey his enthusiasm and curiosity to his students in best effort attempts to get them enthusiastic about their studies.
Eric’s approach to teaching is to first ask questions. After identifying any knowledge gaps, he then provides students with detailed solutions to commonly asked questions. He help students develop good organizational skills, which are often the keys to learning efficiently. He helps students use their creativity in problem solving and stress using symmetry to solve the most challenging problems. Perhaps most importantly, he creates a supportive environment where students aren’t afraid to take risks and make mistakes.
When not test prep or academic tutoring, Eric enjoys supporting Bethesda Chevy Chase High School football and wrestling with his Adin and Gabe. He also enjoys sharing his love of music with other amateur musicians in the meetup group DC Rockers, which he founded. Given his passion for music and sports, he is particularly comfortable tutoring student athletes and student musicians.
