Dr. Anthony Greblick

Dr. Anthony J. Greblick (or “Tony”) has 30+ years of academic experience. He has helped many students prepare for standardized tests (e.g., SAT®, ACT; GRE, GMAT, LSAT; ISEE, SSAT; AP® Language, AP® Literature, AP® French), in both full-class and one-one-one settings; worked as an admissions consultant (for top undergraduate and graduate programs); and taught English and ESL classes for local universities and community colleges, the LAUSD, and other private schools. He also held the title Assistant Professor of English and Communications at Shepherd University (Los Angeles), where he taught for ten years, and was an expository writing instructor at USC for twelve years.
Tony graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in linguistics (summa cum laude, distinction in the major); he also earned a varsity letter in football. In 2000, Tony received a Ph.D. in linguistics from the University of Southern California (specializing in the history of English, colloquial American English and American dialects, English syntax/grammar, sociolinguistics, and historical language change [also previously earning an MA from USC]). He has studied various foreign languages (French, German, Spanish, Russian, Italian, Portuguese, Ukrainian), which feature prominently in his daily reading regimen.
Tony has been a member of American MENSA, Ltd. (160+ IQ) since high school. Additionally, he has appeared three times on television game shows; he once won $5000 on Win Ben Stein’s Money and was a member of the winning team in a televised nationwide IQ test, missing only two questions and tying for the highest score (and defeating guest contestant Ben Stein—for a second time!). His hobbies and interests include sports (baseball, golf, football), comedy (stand-up, improvisational, musical/lyrical), and songwriting.
