Jonathon is a math tutor specializing in SAT Math, ACT Math, and various high school and college math subjects (including Algebra, Geometry/Trigonometry, Calculus, Probability, and Statistics). His approach builds math confidence by focusing on two areas: concepts to help students get the big picture, and pattern recognition to increase confidence and problem solving ability.
In 2009, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics (with a minor in Computer Science) from the College of the Holy Cross, where he wrote an honors thesis on Elliptic Curve Cryptography, tutored hundreds of undergraduate students in calculus, and won the McBrien Mathematics Prize. In 2011, he earned his Master of Arts in Mathematics from Boston College, where he taught courses in the Carroll School of Management as a graduate teaching fellow, served as a math tutor for student athletes, and received the Donald J. White Teaching Excellence Award. Jonathon teaches math courses at Quincy College, ranging from basic math to algebra and calculus. He has over a decade of experience as a math and standardized test prep tutor.
He also has experience in the finance, software, and government sectors. He always tries to bring relevance to math concepts and connect the ideas to real-life applications. Outside of work, he enjoys gardening, blogging, nature walks, Star Trek, western films, and the occasional karaoke night.
